The Bishopthorpe Road Parishes came together in 2020-2021. They stretch the length of Bishopthorpe Road (and slightly beyond at either end!) from Clementhorpe through South Bank to Bishopthorpe and have the river Ouse as their eastern boundary. Taking inspiration from the road and the river, the three churches have embarked on this journey, On the Road Together, Where the River Flows – following Jesus and experiencing the life-giving, refreshing power of the Holy Spirit in and through us.
We’re still only just setting out, but here’s how we’re trying to travel.
Following boldy, Expecting regeneration;
Facing outward, Worshipping joyfully;
Pursuing unity, Embracing diversity;
Building connections, growing bonds;
Sharing generously, Receiving abundantly
